This paper presents investigation of multilevel AC/DC/AC flying capacitor converter (FLC) fed by single-phase 25kV/50Hz voltage source for high power traction application. From grid side - connected through step down transformer - five-level FLC converter is used. The drive set is fed by three-level FLC converter. Also control algorithm and proposed modulation techniques for both converters are described. Simulation results confirm the validity of proposed control technique.
