摘要

Calculating the equilibrium position is important to the stability research of tilting pad journal bearing. The steady-state equilibrium position is also helpful to the optimal designing of sliding bearing. However, this position is difficult to be determined because of the nonlinear hydrodynamic force generated by the oil film in the bearing. By the analysis of the influence of pad rotation angle on the fulcrum angle, this article presents an approach of searching for the steady equilibrium position of tilting pad journal bearing. According to the given load, the equilibrium position of journal center can be searched by the method in multiple directions. The method can effectively avoid the never-ending loop in the process of searching. Then, the process of searching for the position of journal center in five-pad tilting pad journal bearing is illustrated.
