摘要

To optimate prevention and intervention measures, quality of life in children has emerged as an important concept. Nevertheless, to date there have been only a few studies with preschool children. The present study examined the quality of life (QoL) of 243 preschool aged children. Furthermore, the QoL of mothers was investigated. Four groups were compared: Children with developmental delay, children with behavior problems, children with developmental delay and behavior problems, as well as a healthy control group. Furthermore, the QoL of mothers was investigated in these four groups. Statistical analyses showed significant group differences for all scales for the QoL of children. It became clear that children with developmental delay and behavior problems displayed the lowest values of the health-related quality of life. Also for the QoL of mothers a significant group effect arose. Further analyses could show that the QoL of mothers of children with developmental delay and behavior problems were negatively affected compared to the control group. Due to the results of the present study, it appears reasonable to factor questions of the quality of life.
