Acetate-induced controlled-synthesis of hematite polyhedra enclosed by high-activity facets for enhanced photocatalytic performance

Uniform hematite polyhedra were fabricated by a facile acetate-induced solvothermal method. Based on a surface activity order of {101} > {012} > {001}, alpha-Fe2O3 truncated bipyramids dominantly enclosed by {101} facets showed the best performance regarding the photodegradation of RhB with a degradation rate constant of 0.01051 min(-1).
