摘要

It has been widely recognized that it is of paramount importance to protect multicast connections against single link failure in wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) mesh networks. In this paper, we introduce a novel consideration when provisioning survivable multicast sessions in WDM mesh networks. This consideration captures the average number of destination nodes that are affected by a single link failure. We propose two routing schemes that efficiently support the new consideration. We demonstrate by simulation the performance of the two routing schemes.
