摘要

The impact of pre-sowing treatments (non-priming, NaCl priming at 15, 30 and 45 dSm(-1) for 24 h, and hydro priming for 24 h) on germination percentage, mean germination time, root length, shoot length, and vigour index of tall fescue (Festuca arundinacea Schreb.), sheep fescue (Festuca ovina L.), and red fescue (Festuca rubra L.) were evaluated under five levels of NaCl solutions (0, 5, 10, 15 and 20 dSm(-1)). In all three fescue species minimum germination was recordered in non-printing treatment at salinity level of 20 dSm(-1). In most of salinity levels, the maximum salinity tolerance was recorded in tall fescue seeds compared to other species demonstrating similar results. In all species germination percentage, root and shoot length, and vigour index were lower, but mean germination time was higher in primed seeds at high salinity levels. It is evident from the results of this study that seed priming, especially with NaCl, could be a suitable and adaptation method to improve germination and early growth of three fescue species seeds under salt stress.
