摘要

Ligand field theory has been applied for the first time to the corrosion inhibition behavior of iron with inhibitors such as aniline, benzimidazole, mercaptobenzimidazole and aminoben-zothiazole, copper with aniline and benzimidazole, iron with substituted ethane derivatives, and titanium with nitrophenols and nitroanilines. Correlation of corrosion inhibition data with 10 Dq and crystal field stabilization energy ratios have been established for the first time. Inhibitor field strength order has been established for the metals iron, copper, and titanium.
