摘要

The surface of CuO nanoparticles (NPs) was modified by citric acid and vitamin C to improve their dispersion in the poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) matrix. Then, a series of PVA/modified CuO nanocomposites (NCs) were prepared using solution casting technique. These processes were performed under ultrasonic irradiation as a rapid and simple route. All of the prepared specimens were analyzed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, mechanical tensile testing, thermogravimetric analysis, X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM). As it can be seen from the results, by increasing the modified CuO content, thermal properties of the novel NCs were enhanced in comparison to the pure polymer. The uniform morphology of the NC 4 wt % was also confirmed by FE-SEM and TEM techniques.
