摘要
The high impedance surface (HIS) is an artificial material, of which the surface shows very high impedance within its working frequency band. In this paper, the high impedance surface is used as a space stopband filter for the surface wave elimination in antenna and electromagnetic compatibility engineering. The fundamental of HIS is presented, and its performance in real engineering applications is verified. Two kinds of high impedance surfaces are tested: the mushroom-type high impedance surface used for the back lobe reduction of microstrip patch antennas, and the cavity-type high impedance surface used for the noise reduction inside the metal shielding box. Measurement results show the efficiency of the designed high impedance surfaces.
