摘要
The management of breast cancer is evolving rapidly. Because of the improvement in treatment of localized breast cancer, the number of patients with metastases has fallen and the features of relapsing disease have changed. Different subtypes of breast cancer have been identified and associated with specific molecular mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets. In order to optimize use of new treatments, it will be necessary to identify and explore the mechanisms of sensitivity and resistance as the disease evolves. In this area, we face some of the many challenges relating to better management of patients with metastatic breast cancer in the next years.
