摘要

In this paper, we investigate a precise spherical camera model for multi-camera imaging system. We define a spherical projection as an orthographic projection of a point from space to a spherical surface. Therefore, it is reasonable to consider a multi-camera system as a single generalized camera model to solve problems in computer vision. There are three attributes for the spherical camera model, including unique optical center, coverage all field of view and uniform resolution. We propose a series of approaches to construct a spherical camera model from a multi-camera system. It proves that the spherical camera model is reasonable and realizable for multi-camera system.
