摘要

In the increasingly busy networks, either backbone or access, network managers often encounter an annoying problem that bandwidth is always insufficient. For network managers, balancing between quality perceived by users and the cost of service is important in response to overloaded traffic, so it is necessary to offer them an effective method to manage limited bandwidth. A bi-direction adjustable multi-service token bucket mechanism is presented to achieve this purpose. In this FPGA hardware solution, multi-class traffics are serviced as much as possible while their minimum bandwidths are guaranteed. Tests and Results have proved that this solution is effective.
