Monolithic catalysts were prepd. on gamma-Al2O3-washcoated heat-resistant steel supports by using Pt, LaMnO3 perovskite, Pt-doped LaMnO3 and Pt-doped CeO2 as active components and tested in the oxidn. of PhMe, n-heptane, EtOH, AcOEt and Me2CO at 150-450 degrees C. The highest activity showed the Pt catalyst, particularly in PhMe oxidn., the lowest LaMnO3. Addn. of Pt to the perovskite structure resulted in an increase in catalytic activity in the oxidn. of all org. compds. studied. In the oxidn. of AcOEt and Me,CO, both Pt-doped oxide catalysts showed higher activity than Pt itself. The exhaust gases from oxidn. of O-contg. org. compds. contained some amts. of MeCHO.
