摘要

A molecular study to elucidate the phylogenetic affinities within the genus Oxystegus and related genera based on the nuclear ITS region was performed The results of the analyses leave little doubt that Paraleptodontium recurvifolium should be included in the genus Oxystegus On the other hand data concerning the generic delimitation of Oxystegus from Chionoloma/Pseudosymblepharis are far from being conclusive In Oxystegus the combination of molecular and morphological data points to the existence of five species in Europe The variable O tenurostris is characterized by the usual presence of a stem central strand and gradually narrowing flexuose leaves O recurvifolius and the neglected O daldinianus form a sister group sharing among other characters a ligulate-lingulate leaf stripe Genetically somewhat more distant is another pair of species O hibernicus which is characterized by its distinctly expanded sheath and the here described O minor a very inconspicuous plant Whereas in Europe O recur vifolius and O hiberricus ale both restricted to hyperoceanic legions of the British Isles, O daldinianus and O minor oc cural o in the mountain ranges of continental Europe The only species with a wide European distribution was seen to be O tenuirostris Lectotypes are designated for six names related to the complex and a key to the European species is presented
