Nonlinear analysis of frictional chatter mechanism in mechanical systems

摘要

Chatter induced by dry-friction of a typical 2-DOF block-on-belt model was studied. The stability of the system equilibrium point was analyzed. The analytical solution under pure-slip condition was obtained using the average methods. The nonlinear dynamic behaviors of the system were numerically and analytically investigated. The mechanism of frictional chatter was discussed. The results show that with the decrease of belt velocity the system loses its equilibrium stability and the chatter, containing pure-slip and stick-slip types, are induced.
