摘要

In this paper, we focus on the characteristics of electromagnetic power of characteristic modes (CMs) for magnetodielectric materials (MDM). A generalized integral form of Poynting's theorem is proposed. Based on the generalized integral form of Poynting's theorem, an explicit formulation for electromagnetic power of traditional volume integral equation-based CM and Poggio, Miller, Chang, Harrington, Wu, and Tsai-based CM of homogeneous MDM is presented for the first time. Furthermore, from the concept of electromagnetic power, a novel electromagnetic power-based CM for MDM is proposed. Numerical results are given to show that the proposed CM is effective in solving scattering problem.
