摘要

To enhance the solubility of two new photosensitizers (PS), obtained from natural products (Spirulina maxima and Rhodobacter sphaeroides), derivatization of purpurin-18 1 and bacteriopurpurin-18 3 with a cationic polymer: PEI (polyethylenimine) led to the production of polyaminated chlorins 5-6 and bacteriochlorins 7-8, respectively. These new water-soluble photosensitizers have been designed for their potential use in PDT: they are endowed with facilitated accumulation into cancer cells, and their respective Q bands, in the near-infrared region of the visible spectrum, span over the deepest therapeutic window of human tissues.
