Lawesson's reagent, 2,4-bis(4-methoxyphenyl)-1,3,2,4-dithiadiphosphetane-2,4-disufide, reacted with the substituted 1,5-bisphenol L to afford derivatives of 1,3,2-dioxaphosphocane-2-sulfide 2, which were found to possess selective herbicidal activity against rape.
