摘要

In recent years, a growing number of studies have been found that try to explain the neurobiological basis or political behavior, this being called neuropolitics by some authors. This article briefly reviews several aspects of the relationship between brain and politics: politics as a collective creation, its neurobiological needs, the brain bases of the desire for power, personality of the leader, the attitude of the citizen to ideology or politicians and the possible physiological differences between progressive and conservative politicians. As usually occurs in emerging disciplines, current knowledge is limited, and many of the conclusions are preliminary. However, the new neurophysiology and functional neuroimaging techniques predict a promising future.
