摘要

Nanocrystalline molybdenum nitride (gamma-Mo2N) was synthesized via a thermal reduction-nitridation route by the reaction of metallic sodium with anhydrous molybdenum pentachloride and ammonium chloride in an autoclave at 550 degrees C. X-ray powder diffraction pattern indicated that the product was cubic Mo2N, and the cell constant was a = 4.161 angstrom. Scanning electron microscopy image showed that it consisted of particles with an average size of about 30 nm. The product was also studied by BET and TGA. It had good thermal stability and oxidation resistance below 400 degrees C in air.
