Objective To study ultrasongraphic and clinicopathological features of dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP).Methods Ultrasongraphic and clinicopathological characteristics of 11 cases of DFSP were retrospectively analyzed.Results Single mass was detected in all patiens,all of the tumors are located in the skin or subcutanrous tissue,about the size of 0.9-6.8 cm.The tumors distributed in the trunk(72.73％),proximal limbs (18.18％) or face and neck (9.09％).Most of tumors (90.91％) were hypoechoic and heterogeneous.9 cases(81.82 ％) with distinct bonndary and regular shape without liquification or calcification.10 cases (90.91％) mass internal color doppler rich blood signals.Pathological examination found that the tumor is nodular that are found almost exclusively in the dermis,from which they often invade the subcutaneous tissue.Other features of diagnostic importance are the high cellularity,monomorphic appearance,moderate-to-high mitotic activity.Immunohistochemically,these tumors are positive for vimentin and CD34.All patients had no lymph node metastasis.Conclusions The clinical ultrasonography features of DFSP are mainly determined by clinicopathological characteristics of patients and have certain characteristic songraphic findings.Conbined with ultrasound and pathplogical examination can provide value for clinical detection of DFSP.
