摘要

This study utilized statistics of the chemical industrial area (Liaoning Province in China) during 2002-2012 to examine the agglomeration level of primary, secondary, and tertiary industries in the region. Then, this study tested the stationarity of relevant data and applied the Cobb-Douglas (C-D) production function model to explore the impacts of industrial agglomeration on county-level economic growth in the Liaoning Province. The results showed that within the sample period, industrial agglomeration significantly stimulated the county economic growth in chemical industry area. Based on the understanding that the economy of the Liaoning Province has been entering a new standard of normality, the government should focus on improving infrastructure facilities and service capabilities to continue to promote the industrial agglomeration of counties, and thereby facilitate their sustainable economic growth.
