We propose a universal tool for structural analysis of soft/frozen-hydrated materials at a macromolecular level over a wide range of temperatures (-120 to +50 degrees C). The cryogenic scanning probe microscope presented here allows detailed investigation and serial-section 3D tomography of soft matter under native-like conditions.
