摘要

A theoretical boundary friction model for amorphous polymer is proposed under consideration with microscopic attachments and deformations of molecular bridge to the counter surface, and also considered with macroscopic rupture of adhesive conjunction in the asperity contacts. In this model, we have discussed about the effects of the viscoelastic characteristics of attached polymer molecular chains (molecular scale) and polymer surfaces (asperity scale). The applications of this model for polymer films or chemical modification of polymer surface, have been predicted that the frictional characteristics of surfaces have been dramatically changed by boundary polymer film. For the varieties of polymer boundary lubrication, the Bowden-Tabor's classical concept about film coverage in boundary lubrication has been extended to the contribution ratio. The proposed model has been applied to the frictional characteristics of multicomponent polymer film. Therefore this proposed model can be useful for design the frictional characteristics of a variety of polymer films and chemical modified polymer surfaces.
