The present research paper deals with the case of chronic colitis in a three-year-old castrated half-breed dog. The diagnosis was made based on the clinical examination, laboratory tests (blood tests, microbiological and parasitological faeces testing), X-ray and endoscopic examination of the digestive system. Clinical tests, laboratory blood tests, x-ray, bacteriological and parasitological faeces testing, endoscopic examination and cytometry analysis of the heterogeneous full blood were performed. After an unsuccessful conventional drug therapy (metronidazole, metoclopramide, ranitidine, trimethoprim and sulfadyne, fenbendazole and albendazole), holistic treatment commenced (C vitamin, E L-glutamine, food supplement Colon Care, linseed) during six weeks which brought very good results. Namely, primary symptoms of the illness vanished. Aim immunostimulation effect of the applied holistic therapy was observed based on the flow cytometry findings from the vein blood. With the combination of various holistic methods (homeopathy, dietetic treatment and orthomolecular medicine), an excellent therapy result was achieved, and the animal's health status was significantly improved.
